Sunday Roast

Every Sunday for the month of April

Sunday Roast is a relaxed affair and instead of our normal menu we will be offering a shared three course set menu at $60 per person. Every Sunday in April we’ll have a different roast main on offer. There will be plenty of food and we recommend settling in with a glass of Pinot and doing as little as possible in the afternoon.

From 11am - 6pm

$60 per person for a three-course Sunday Roast served with all the trimmings.

Sunday 7th April - Free-range Porchetta
Sunday 14th April - Bostock’s Chicken Roast
Sunday 21st April - Slow Roasted Speckled Park Beef Sirloin
Sunday 28th April - Lamb Rump Roast

As the evenings start to cool, it’s the perfect time for an Autumnal feast and we are excited to welcome the New Zealand String Quartet to The Runholder.

The New Zealand String Quartet – Te Rōpu Tūrū O Aotearoa offers transformative chamber music encounters for New Zealanders, earning global acclaim for insightful interpretations and dynamic performances. Transitioning to their 2024 season, Soundscapes, the Quartet explores the nexus of music and environment. Venturing beyond the traditional concert halls, Soundscapes will explore eco-sanctuaries, art galleries, and unique venues like The Runholder in Martinborough. 

The Quartet will play a thoughtfully curated selection of classical works designed to pair perfectly with every step of the evening’s culinary journey. Head Chef Tim Smith will be crafting a delightful three-course Autumn feast celebrating Wairarapa’s best. 

From 5.30pm-10.00pm (First performance at 6.00pm, guests must be seated by 5.50pm)
$110 per person includes a drink on arrival, concert, and a three-course Autumn menu. Te Kairanga, Martinborough Vineyard wines & Lighthouse Gin will be available for purchase on the evening alongside beer and non-alcoholic drinks.

Option to add return shuttle transportation between Greytown, Featherston & Martinborough for $10 per person

Ladies Lunch

Every Thursday & Friday in May

A great excuse to gather the girls (or guys!) together for two delicious set-menu courses and a glass of wine.

From 12pm-3pm.

Start with warm Clareville sourdough, smoked kahawai & pickles, and kumara hummus, followed by your main choice of crisp skin market fish with leek, fennel, lemon and capers or pan fried Agria gnocchi, butternut pumpkin, sage & peppered Pecorino.

$49 per person for two-course set menu and glass of wine (choice of Martinborough Vineyard Te Tera Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Gris, or Te Kairanga Estate Pinot Noir).
