First Sunday of every month

A relaxed, long-lunch affair - on the first Sunday of every month throughout winter (May-Oct), we’ll be swapping our usual menu for a shared three-course roast with all the trimmings.

Expect plenty of food, great company, and the perfect excuse to settle in with a glass of Pinot and while away the afternoon.

Sunday 3rd May - Slow-roasted Speckle Park beef sirloin
Sunday 7th June - Aromatic spiced rolled lamb leg
Sunday 5th July - Free-range crisp porchetta roast
Sunday 2nd August - Slow-roasted Speckle Park beef sirloin
Sunday 6th September (Father’s Day) - Aromatic spiced rolled lamb leg
Sunday 4th October - Free-range crisp porchetta roast

$60 per person for three-course Sunday Roast.

Vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options available.

Celebrate Mother's Day with a relaxed and indulgent lunch at The Runholder, designed for sharing and savouring together.

Start with fire-roasted kūmara hummus and warm focaccia, for the main event - spiced pressed lamb shoulder with silky polenta, Cavallo Nero, pea, mint & Pinot jus, and to finish, a vanilla infused panna cotta with pink rose, palm syrup and toasted pistachio, plus mixed petit fours for the special occasion.

$79 per person three-course set menu lunch.

Martinborough Vineyard invites you to celebrate the seventh release of Marie Zelie, a hallmark Pinot Noir epitomising the winery’s pioneering style and impeccable reputation.

Join Winemaker Tom Turner with host John Saker at The Runholder for an unforgettable four-course dining experience, thoughtfully paired with our curated selection of current and library Martinborough Vineyard wines, including the yet-to-be-released Marie Zelie Pinot Noir 2020.

This intimate event will explore the rich history of Martinborough Vineyard while marking an exciting new chapter with Tom at the helm, honouring the enduring legacy of local wine pioneer, Marie Zelie.

Be among the first to taste this exceptional new release. Guests will also have the exclusive opportunity to purchase bottles of Marie Zelie Pinot Noir 2020 to take home.

$150 per person (payable on the evening) includes four-course dinner with paired wines. Limited seats, bookings essential.

An Evening of Acoustic Music with Shaun Preston

Due to overwhelming demand, our first event sold out in 24 hours, so we are putting on a second event!

Join us for an evening of live acoustic music by local legend Shaun Preston, who will be performing on his signature white piano.

Gather your music-loving friends and settle in for a night of exceptional food, wine, gin, and acoustic ambiance from 6pm. Enjoy a three-course meal, served family style, while listening to the live music.

Limited seats available. Reserve your table in advance for this unique dining experience.

After the incredible response to our event last November, The Runholder Presents: A Boutique Festival of Wine, Gin, Food & Music, we are excited to announce the event you loved now is returning on Saturday 14th November 2026, and becomes the new era of Toast Martinborough - New Zealand’s most iconic and much-loved celebration of wine, food & music among the vines.

Toast Martinborough will now be hosted at The Runholder, creating a vibrant, centrally curated festival experience while continuing to showcase the very best of the region. While the setting evolves, the heart of the event remains unchanged – local wineries, exceptional food and outstanding live music will continue to define the Toast Martinborough experience.
