The Runholder is the only place you’ll find rare, new release and library wines from these iconic Martinborough producers.

Discover the history and home of one of Martinborough’s pioneering wineries. Taste Te Kairanga Runholder Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and Te Kairanga John Martin Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and visit Te Kairanga's underground barrel hall and its home vineyards on the edge of the Martinborough Terrace.

Bookings are recommended for guided tastings and premium tasting and tour experiences as sessions are held at set times and spaces are limited. Walk-ins are welcome when availability allows.
For self-guided wine and gin tasting trays, wine by the glass or bottle, gin cocktails, & platters in our cellar door, we do not take bookings and welcome walk-in guests.

Choose from a guided wine tasting with optional barrel hall tour, guided gin tastings, premium guided wine or gin experiences and tours, tasting trays, or self-guided tasting trays.
We also offer wines by the glass or bottle, and gin cocktails to enjoy alongside antipasti platters in our tasting room.

Guided wine and gin tastings take around 30 minutes. Our premium experiences, including the Te Kairanga Home Tour & Tasting and the Martinborough Vineyard Marie Zelie Masterclass, or a guided wine tasting with barrel hall tour add on take approximately 45 minutes.

Yes. Guided wine and gin tasting fees are waived when you spend $60 or more on wine or gin to take home from our cellar door. Some premium experiences are also complimentary with the purchase of selected wines.
If you enjoy a tasting tray, you’ll receive $5 off any take home wine or gin purchase of $60 or more.

Yes. Our Guided Wine Tasting can be upgraded with a guided tour of our underground barrel hall for an additional fee of $10, offering a behind-the-scenes look at our winemaking philosophy and craft.

Absolutely. Wine and gin tasting trays are available to enjoy alongside your meal in the restaurant, making it easy to pair regional cuisine with our Martinborough wines and Lighthouse Gin.
